Family SportFest Returns to Sport Ireland Campus for 2021!
Family SportFest returns to the Sport Ireland Campus this year, celebrating everything wonderful about sport and getting your family to experience the magic of over 25 different sports and activities in our world-class facilities. This event, in association with the European Week of Sport, takes place on both Saturday the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of September, between 9:30am to 5pm.
Over the 2 days, the doors of the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena will open for 100 people at a time for 90 minute sessions. Tickets are just €2.50 per person. Prebooking essential - ticket only event.
These sessions will be socially distanced and all attendees over the age of 18 are required to provide proof of Covid Vaccination prior to gaining entry.
What to Expect at Family SportFest 2021!
FitZone:
Test your speed, agility and reactions or challenge you family to find out who is the best athlete in our speed gates, hang tough and other challenges. These are areas where our coaches and the Development Officers from various sports National Governing Bodies will demonstrate and put you through your paces in a fun, exciting blast of sport.
SkillZone
Test your sports skills and take on your family to discover your kick speed (kmph), test your rock climbing skills. Challenge yourself and your family in many different ways and experience sport in a fun way, like never before. We have inclusive challenges and sport experiences for everyone in the family.
SportZone
Many of the National Governing Bodies of sport in Ireland will be offering you the chance to take part and try their sports at the Family SportFest. They will highlight how you can get involved in their sport the local clubs where all the action takes place. Make sure to pick up the info at each stand and see where sport takes your family.
Furthermore, as this event is being held in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena, you are your family will be able to test yourselves on the same Athletics training equipment and facilities which our Olympian and Paralympian athletes prepared on ahead of this years games. Test yourself on high jump, long jump and other challenges in the home of Irish Sport.
You can also take on our 4 Gymnastics stations testing 4 different gymnastics skills to discover how flexible and agile you really are. Our expert team will guide you through these tough but fun challenges.
