Weightlifting Programme

Our Weightlifting Programme (for 18 yrs +) promises a social and enjoyable fitness experience, offering a refreshing approach to traditional strength training in our Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena High-Performance Gym. 

The classes involve Olympic Weightlifting techniques in a supportive group-based environment including snatch, clean, and jerk as well as strength and core training, mobility, stability, and sport-specific conditioning for speed and power.

Elevate your heart health, lower blood pressure, and unleash the benefits of Olympic weightlifting on speed, power, mobility, great for injury prevention, osteoporosis and arthritis.

Beginner Weightlifting:

Monday 20:30-21:30pm

Wednesday 7:30-8:30am

Saturday 8:00-9:00am

Lift Active:

Monday 20:15-21:15pm

Wednesday 7:15-8:15am

Olympic Weightlifting style class tailored for participants with prior knowledge and experience in Olympic Weightlifting. Participants should be able to work in an independent environment. Participants will receive personalised attention and guidance as they continue to master technique and optimise performance in the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk.

Programming is designed to improve physical activity and elevate athletic performance through functional movements and sport specific exercises.

Located within the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena, our Private Gym on the top floor is an elite-level private gymnasium equipped with state-of-the-art machines, free weights, benches, squat racks, muscle-targeting weight machines, and more, this is the perfect location to work on strength and conditioning. (Enter via the National Indoor Arena main reception entrance and take the lift/staircase to the top floor)

Aoife O’Moore, is the driving force behind our Weightlifting programme. With a wealth of coaching experience in club, national, and international settings and part of the Weightlifting Ireland Coaching Team.  As a member of the International Irish Team, she has not only set multiple Junior Irish Records but also proudly holds the title of Junior National Champion. Currently ranked #1 as a Junior in Ireland, Aoife brings a winning spirit and a dedication to excellence to every aspect of our Weightlifting programme.
