Strive Fitness Race, part of the European Week of Sport, is an inclusive, high-energy fitness racing event designed for individuals or pairs of all ages and fitness levels. Taking place on Sunday, 21st September at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena, this exciting challenge unfolds on the National Indoor Athletics Track. Whether you're just starting out or already a fitness enthusiast, Strive offers two dynamic formats to suit your level; Strive Fitness Challenge or Strive Fitness Race.

Entry Fee: Subsidised price of just €20 per person / €40 for doubles, thanks to the European Week of Sport.

Fitness Racing For All Levels

The Strive Fitness Race is a unique challenge where participants compete individually or in pairs, combining elements of running and functional fitness exercises to test strength, endurance, and overall fitness. Every meter run and every rep completed is tracked live, with a real-time leaderboard to keep the energy high and the competition exciting.

 

Option 1 - Strive Fitness Challenge  (Time Slots: 9am and 12.20pm)

Perfect for those trying fitness racing for the first time. These sessions are designed to be fun, supportive, and accessible—ideal for building confidence and enjoying the experience.

 

Option 2 - Strive Fitness Race (Time Slots: 1.30pm to 5.45pm)

Tailored for regular exercisers looking to push their limits in a dynamic race environment.

*Taking part in accessible inclusive version of the race is also available upon request.

Partnerships

The event is funded by European Week of Sport and Sport Ireland.  Sport Ireland Campus have partnered with Ireland Active to ensure as many gyms across the country can take part, and with Revelate Fitness to deliver and event with the latest in motion capture technology, live leader boards and hassle free Fitness Racing.

Strive Beginner Format Fitness Race at Sport Ireland Campus

Strive Fitness Challenge Format - Beginner Fitness Levels

Pairs Event with 4 Stations.

Station 1 - Max metres Rowing 

8 Minutes - You Go I Go 

4mins – Changeover and rest

 

Station 2 - Max 40m Shuttle Runs 

8 Minutes - You Go I Go 

4mins – Changeover and rest

 

Station 3 - Max metres Ski Erg  

8 Minutes - You Go I Go 

4mins – Changeover and rest

 

Station 4 - Max down-ups 

8 Minutes - You Go I Go 

 

Total workout time – 44mins 

Winners calculated on Maximum meters plus maximum Down-ups.

Strive Fitness Race Format - Intermediate to Advanced Fitness Levels

Pairs event with 3 x double exercise stations – total 6 exercises 

Station 1 

First - 160m walking lunges (8 lengths of the 20m lane)  

Second - Max metres on the ski erg.  

12 minutes - You Go I Go 

4mins – Changeover and rest 

 

Station 2 

 First - 120m burpee broad jumps (6 lengths of the 20m lane)  

Second - max metres on the rower erg 

12 minutes - You Go I Go 

4mins – Changeover and rest 

 

Station 3 

First - 120 Situps  

Second - Max laps of the 200m track 

12 minutes - You Go I Go 

 

Total workout time – 44 minutes  

Winners calculated on Maximum meters, after completing first challenge of each station.   

This new technology-powered fitness race featuring live leaderboards has been designed for both beginners and more advanced fitness enthusiasts. We'll be counting every meter and every rep to provide a live leaderboard.
