Inspiring the Next Generation: Spar Eurospar Partners with Sport Ireland Campus for Kids Camps
Sport Ireland Campus announces exciting new partnership with SPAR, EUROSPAR and Team Ireland for Summer 2026 Kids Camps.
Thousands of children are set to train like Olympians and be inspired this summer thanks to a new partnership between SPAR, EUROSPAR, Team Ireland and the Sport Ireland Campus Kids Camps for Summer 2026.
SPAR EUROSPAR Team Ireland Ambassadors Kate O’Connor, silver medallist at the World Athletics Championship, and Olympic gold medallist rower Fintan McCarthy, are also supporting the initiative to help inspire young participants and promote the importance of sport and physical activity from an early age.
The collaboration will help give children the opportunity to experience a wide range of sports in the world-class environment of the Sport Ireland Campus. This sponsorship sees Spar Eurospar, Team Ireland sponsors, connect with the community, helping to inspire the next generation of athletes for the world stage.
Children attending the camps will have the chance to meet Olympians and experience multiple sports including athletics, gymnastics, swimming and more.
The camps focus on participation, inclusion and enjoyment, encouraging children of all abilities to stay active, build confidence and make lasting friendships throughout the summer.
Dr. Una May, Chief Executive Officer of Sport Ireland said:
“The Sport Ireland Campus Kids Camps play an important role in encouraging children of all abilities to get active and discover a variety of sports in a world-class environment. Through our partnership with SPAR and EUROSPAR and the Olympic Federation of Ireland, young participants have the unique opportunity to experience the home of Irish sport and be inspired by Team Ireland athletes along the way.”
Colin Donnelly, SPAR Sales Director, said: “Supporting the Sport Ireland Campus Kids Camps is a natural extension of our Team Ireland partnership. It allows us to bring that sponsorship to life at grassroots level, helping families and encouraging children to get active and experience sport in a world‑class environment.”
Peter Dwan, EUROSPAR Sales Director said: “This is a strong example of how our partnership with Team Ireland continues to evolve beyond elite competition. As retailers rooted in local communities, we see initiatives like this as an important way to support the next generation while reinforcing our long‑term commitment to Irish sport.”
Peter Sherrard, Chief Executive Officer of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, said;
“We are delighted to partner with SPAR, EUROSPAR and the Sport Ireland Campus Kids Camps to provide children with an exciting introduction to sport. One of the unique aspects of the Olympic Games is the wide variety of sports and talents on display, and these camps offer children the chance to experience that diversity first-hand. By trying a range of Olympic sports in a fun and welcoming environment, children can build confidence, create lasting memories and develop friendships along the way.”
