BeActive Campus Open Week

The BeActive Campus Open Week takes place 23rd to 30th September 2026, with free activities as part of European Week of Sport.

Sport Ireland Campus, alongside partner National Governing Bodies of Sport, invite everyone to join of FREE events designed to open the Campus to new visitors and to promote active and healthy living.

Register for our free 'Come and Try' classes and events with something suitable for all ages and skill levels.  Why not try something new like wall climbing, diving or surfing in the National Aquatic Centre or tumbling in the National Gymnastics Centre, or pilates, and target shooting. We have so many exciting opportunities.

There are classes for kids, for adults and inclusive classes, simply click the link above to see the list and register, the BeActive Campus Open Week has something for everyone!

The BeActive Campus Open Week is a European Commission led initiative funded by Sport Ireland as part of European Week of Sport, which aims to increase the level of participation in sport and physical activity in the EU and beyond.

Beach Volleyball

2:30pm Beach Volleyball: Open Guided Play with Volleyball Ireland (90 Mins)

Open to all skill and experience levels, this session will give attendees the opportunity to play modified beach volleyball 4v4 beach volleyball as well as 2v2. Volleyball Ireland national team coaches and players will be on hand to give guidance and advice.

Our Active Girls classes are designed to encourage and enhance physical activity and sports participation among primary school girls. Led by experienced female coaches to provide the girls with friendly, relatable role models in a fun and supportive environment. 10:00am Come & Try Baton Twirling

Come and try the exciting sport of baton twirling with Twirl Ireland! Baton twirling combines baton skills with movement, coordination, dance and performance. This fun taster session will introduce participants to some of the basic skills and techniques of baton twirling and give them the opportunity to try the sport for themselves alongside Twirl Ireland athletes and coaches. No previous experience is required and all equipment will be provided.

Sunday Junior Club offers children a chance to explore new sports and activities in a fun, engaging environment at the home of Irish sport, led by our experienced coaches. Using fun sports activities and games, the children will develop the key fundamentals of sports movement in children while making friends, and enjoying their Sunday mornings—all while giving parents a well-deserved break.

Active Superstars Club gives children with additional needs and disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun, inclusive physical activities. Led by Active Disability Ireland-trained coaches, our 1:4 ratio supports positive interactions, builds confidence and coping skills, and promotes mental and physical wellbeing. We provide a safe, welcoming space where children can be themselves, celebrate their abilities and learn new skills.

Gym Tots 2026

Intro to our Junior Gymnastics Academy (Gym Tots/ Junior Gym), which aims to link the development of fundamental movements for child development and fundamental gymnastics. This ‘active start’ gymnastics programme has been developed around the creation of challenges for the gymnast to concur. The gymnasts will progress at their own rate and this programme will allow for individual differences in each participants rate of achievement. The class will allow participants to sample a wide range of movements.
